With the approval of the Academic Advisor, a junior or senior may take one course a semester on a pass/no pass (P/N) basis. It must be determined by the advisor that the course will expand and enrich the student’s experience. If passed, the credits will count for graduation, but neither grade nor credits will be calculated in the quality point average.

Once a course has been identified as a pass/no pass elective, the course must be completed as such, and the grade submitted must be a P or an N.  A student may not elect to take a required course on a pass/no pass basis if pass/no pass is not the default grade mode.  The decision to elect the pass/no pass option must be made no later than the end of the add/drop period. Credits attempted as pass/no pass do not count toward the 12-credit-minimum requirement for Dean's List eligibility.
