Applying to Study at Duquesne University

Exchange and visiting students must follow a certain set of procedures to be admitted and enrolled at Duquesne.

Please complete the online Exchange Program Application. We must receive all the necessary documentation to make an informed decision about your admission.

Immigration Documents

If accepted, we will process your immigration documents. You will be contacted by our Internationa Advisor to submit documents that show you can provide the funding for your living expenses while you are at Duquesne.

  • For Exchange Students: Since tuition costs are covered by our exchange agreement, you need only provide proof of funding for living expenses.
  • For Visiting Students: As part of our agreement with your university, tuition costs, housing, and other living expenses are required to attend Duquesne. Please provide proof of funding for these expenses for the period of time you wish to attend Duquesne.

Once you have provided the necessary information for immigration, we will issue you an I-20 or DS-2019 document and information for your arrival to Duquesne. Details will be provided in your acceptance letter and subsequent communication.

Housing

All undergraduate AND graduate (including Law) exchange students must live on campus during your exchange. Housing contracts are submitted through DORI after you are accepted. Further instructions are on Accepted Students: Next Steps. Often housing is in high demand, so we recommend that you apply for housing as soon as you have made your decision to attend Duquesne. Please consult Residence Life for details.

Please consult our page for Accepted Students: Next Steps for further information and other useful tips.

Course Selection

Once admitted, received your acceptance letter, and have informed us that you plan to attend Duquesne, you are required to fill out a Course Selection Form as part of the arrival process. Academic advisors must know what classes you plan to take prior to your arrival. The Center for Global Engagement will let you know when you have access to the university's online portal to look for available courses for your semester.
