Qualified Pennsylvania residents pursuing a horizon-expanding education at Duquesne University as a transfer student can receive up to $20,400 in financial assistance at the undergraduate level through the University’s PA State Grant-Transfer Matching Program.

In addition to support from the state of Pennsylvania, Duquesne University's PA State Grant-Transfer Matching Program will double the amount of the PA State Grant for eligible transfer students starting with the summer 2023 term, offering up to $20,400 in support (up to $5,100 per year through graduation or up to four years).

This financial-assistance initiative is an important part of Duquesne’s commitment to support and enrich the journey of Pennsylvania students and their families seeking bigger goals in higher education. The program provides increased financial assistance to eligible transfer students and benefits first-year students with up to $10,000 (up to $2,500 per year) in matching grants.

“We believe a Duquesne education is about those moments that move you to a clearer vantage point—both in terms of what you’re studying and the larger world,” said Joel Bauman, senior vice president for management. “Our PA State Grant-Matching Program offers a practical financial resource to help students and families pursue that education at Duquesne University.”

Other financial planning resources at the University include scholarships and grants that are supported by dedicated Duquesne alumni and generous donors, Phi Theta Kappa scholarships, Pittsburgh Promise Preferred Partner benefits, unique micro-scholarship packages available through a partnership with RaiseMe, affordable payment plans and more."

A nationally recognized leader for its dedication to transfer-student support and success regardless of when the student decides to transfer, Duquesne University is also a Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Transfer Honor Roll institution for excellence in transfer pathways. Additionally, Duquesne’s innovative Bridges curriculum and transfer process offer students with an associate degree immediate access to the majority of majors while having satisfied their Bridges general education requirements upon entry to the University.

Pennsylvania residents who apply to Duquesne University, complete their FAFSA application and meet all requirements by the Monday, May 1, PA State Grant application deadline, will automatically receive this supplemental award in their financial aid package.
