Admitted Students Day

Every February the Duquesne University School of Pharmacy hosts prospective students for Admitted Students Day. Admitted Students Day gives you and your family the opportunity meet with faculty, staff, alumni and current student pharmacists as well as experience a demonstration of SimMan, learn about unique experiential education opportunities, participate in a Q & A with current student pharmacists and more.

Advocacy Trip

Every year, Duquesne University School of Pharmacy student pharmacists partner with students in the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University to visit the U.S. Pharmacopeia and the United States Capitol Building to advocate to lawmakers for the pharmacy profession. The School of Pharmacy believes strongly in the need for pharmacists to learn to advocate for the profession and remains the only pharmacy school in the country to require advocacy training for graduation.

Commencement Ceremony

The Duquesne University School of Pharmacy holds a special commencement ceremony every May for pharmacy graduates independent of the Duquesne University Commencement.

Continuing Education Springfest/Winterfest

The Office of Continuing Pharmacy Education in conjunction with the School of Pharmacy residents hosts a Continuing Education Winterfest or Springfest to give alumni and friends of the School of Pharmacy the opportunity to earn continuing pharmacy education credit.

Health & Wellness Fair

To kick off American Pharmacists Month, the Duquesne University School of Pharmacy hosts the annual Health and Wellness Fair in Market Square on the first Wednesday in October. All pharmacy student organizations sponsor a booth and student pharmacists offer free health screenings, including blood pressure, blood glucose and Tanita screenings and offer flu shots and a variety of free products and health information.

The Duquesne University School of Pharmacy hosts a summer camp for high school students and current college students thinking about transferring to explore pharmacy with faculty and students. The one-day camp highlights different job pathways and explore a day-in-the-life of a pharmacist.

White Coat Ceremony

Every August, the School of Pharmacy welcomes student pharmacists into the professional phase of the Pharm.D. program, after successfully completing two years in the pre-professional phase of the program, and members of the Online Pharm.D. program with white coats and pins.

A passion for education insures continued improvement in patient care through enhanced experiential learning to train future pharmacists to continue the tradition of pharmacy practice excellence.
The Office of Continuing Pharmacy Education hosts various continuing pharmacy education events throughout the year and offers a selection of online courses for credit.
