The Career Services Office (CSO) works individually with students as they work toward
their career aspirations. We do this in a variety of ways, including meeting one-on-one
with students to develop their job search strategies (beginning in their first semester),
planning a variety of professional development and skill-building programs throughout
the year, and connecting students with alumni and other members of the legal community.
The CSO aspires to offer personalized attention, meeting students where they are in
their Day, Evening or Part-time Day studies so we can help them achieve their goals.
We strive to provide each student with the information, skills, and tools necessary
to be successful in their job search and professional development endeavors throughout
law school and as they continue into their careers. We look forward to working with

We offer a complete line of services to law alumni.
Career counseling and one-on-one assistance with resume writing, interviewing techniques,
interpersonal skills, and job search strategies.
Alumni Mentor Program that connects students and recent graduates with alumni for
the purposes of offering advice on job search, networking skills and for sharing personal
experiences in making the transition from law student to lawyer.
Reciprocity for alumni to access another law school's career services office when

The Career Services Office (CSO) works with employers interested in hiring students
and alumni for full-time, part-time, or project-based work during the academic year,
summer months, or post graduation. Duquesne Kline School of Law students and alumni
are known for their strong skills, solid work ethic, and professional demeanor, and
the CSO enthusiastically invites employers to consider them for your hiring needs.

The Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University is pleased to report on the
success of its law school graduates. 93.8% (121/129) members of the Class of 2022
were employed or pursuing a graduate degree less than a year from graduation.
The Career Services Office helps students engage with employers by posting job and
internship opportunities; organizing recruitment programs, legal job fairs, and events
throughout the year; and assisting students with job searches outside of the Pittsburgh
area.
The Career Services Office publishes job and internship opportunities for current
students and alumni on DuqLawConnect.
Every year, the Career Services Office organizes special recruitment programs where
we invite employers to campus to interview students for summer, school-year, or post-graduate
positions. We organize Fall and Spring Recruitment Programs (OCI) and a Legal Career
Fair that we host with the Duquesne Kline Law Alumni Association.

The Career Services Office established guidelines for students and employers in an
effort to ensure the highest standards of professionalism, fairness, transparency,
and nondiscrimination in law student recruitment and employment. The Duquesne Kline
School of Law is member of NALP (National Association for Law Placement), and we are
guided by NALP's Principles for a Fair and Ethical Recruitment Process for the benefit of the school, law students, and employers.
Reciprocity enables students and alumni to access the job postings of other law schools.
The Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University has reciprocity with many
law schools across the country. If you are a Duquesne Kline School of Law student
or graduate seeking employment outside of the Pittsburgh area, a great way to access
job listings is by requesting a letter of reciprocity. Schools post their reciprocity
policies on their websites, and we recommend that anyone seeking reciprocity review
the relevant policies in order to ensure that they will be in compliance with them.
To request a letter of reciprocity, current law students or alumni should contact
the CSO at (412) 396-6559 or lawcareersFREEDUQUESNE. You must provide your name, current address, and the law school(s) to which you
are requesting reciprocity.
The Duquesne Kline School of Law offers students a number of opportunities to receive
financial support while working in the public service sector or for public interest
organizations.
McGinley Public Service Law Fellowships
The McGinley Public Service Law Fellowships support students who are interested in
working in public service in executive, legislative, or judicial branches of government
or related agencies. Since its inception in 2012, the program has funded summer stipends
for students working in fair housing, immigration, political asylum, domestic violence,
child safety, court diversity and numerous other public service areas. The fellowships
are funded through the generosity of the McGinley Family and administered by the Office
of the Dean.
Students must submit an application in order to be considered for this Fellowship. The application deadline is April
7, 2023, at 5:00 p.m.
Public Interest Law Association Fellowships
Public Interest Law Association Fellowships assist students working with organizations
that provide direct legal services to low-income and underserved clients. The program
is supported by several funding sources and administered through the Duquesne Kline
School of Law's Clinical Legal Education program. The fellowships provide students
with stipends during 10-week placements. Funding is available in part though the leadership
of the student-run Public Interest Law Association and the Office of Student Organizations.
Students must submit an application in order to be considered for this Fellowship. The application deadline is April
7, 2023, at 5:00 p.m.
Other Fellowship Opportunities
The Career Services Office compiles information on regional and national fellowship
opportunities, such as theAllegheny County Bar Foundation Lawyers Fund Fellowship Program, which matches law students with public interest organizations that offer free legal
services to low-income residents of Allegheny County, and thePittsburgh Schweitzer Fellowship, which supports health and social service placements serving low-income populations
through the region. The office also provides access to webinars by Equal Justice
Works and other national organizations about applying for fellowships. Learn more
